Support With Dignity

Hands-on help with everyday personal routines

When bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, or moving around the home becomes difficult, personal-care assistance can help a senior continue daily routines at home. WAF Senior Services provides this support as non-medical in-home care.

The care-needs assessment helps WAF understand which kinds of assistance a person needs before matching the family with a caregiver.

Getting Started

How personal care begins

WAF uses a four-step process to understand the person’s needs and look for a suitable caregiver match.

  1. 1

    Consultation

The family contacts WAF to talk about the kind of support they are seeking.

  2. 2

    Care-needs assessment

WAF learns about the person’s care needs before moving forward with a match.

  3. 3

    Caregiver matching

WAF considers care needs, personality, and family preferences when matching a caregiver.

  4. 4

    Start of care

Care begins when the schedule and a suitable caregiver are available.

Timing is individual. Scheduling and the start of care depend on the person’s needs and caregiver availability. WAF does not promise a fixed start time or guaranteed availability.

A Thoughtful Match

Caregivers matched to the person and family

Personal care is personal. WAF background-checks caregivers and matches them based on care needs, personality, and family preferences.

Caregivers receive orientation, care-plan instructions, office check-ins, competency checks, and required state training. With the client’s permission, WAF may also conduct an occasional in-home check-in to make sure care is running well.

If a match is not working, the family may request a different caregiver. WAF will work on another match based on caregiver availability.

WAF Senior Services is IDPH Licensed and provides non-medical in-home senior care. This does not mean caregivers provide nursing or medical treatment.
